Harrigan McMahon Bowman
Harrigan McMahon Bowman is an artist, educator and researcher who currently resides in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her various series of photographs explore different aspects of life, including life on a farm, living in Harlem during an intense period of neighborhood flux, questioning and constructing the notion of "home," examining the role of food in building community, and using the camera as a tool for research and as a means of investigation. Harrigan holds her Doctorate in Education from Columbia University, and has taught photography, as well as served as an Adult Educator at the Guggenheim Museum.
